Seahawks season ticket holders gets short end of the stick for superbowl celebration

This is an open letter to the Seattle Seahawks and any other legacy season ticket holder who feels agitated bout our "rally" that was held at Century Link field on Wed. This is NOT a slight towards the players, they had nothing to do with how things were set up, but the administration at the Seahawks and century link field. First off, let me clarify, I am a LONG time season ticket holder, I've supported this team way before most of the bandwagon 700,000 fans came on board and I've understood my place in it all. I don't expect special treatment, or up close and personal relationships with the players, coaches or administration. I've never complained officially about the shortage of parking spots, the hassles we get from security about where we can't go in the stadium and how terrible and overpriced the food in the stadium has gotten. But after Wed.'s "rally" for season ticket holders, I am going to voice my aggravation to highest levels, starting with this blog on google. Let me start with some background.... I am the most loyal Seahawk fan you'll probably ever meet. I've been ridiculed, harassed, and even humiliated by other NFL fans for supporting this team, both here in Seattle and in other cities that I've visited or lived. When I moved to Vegas for a short few years, I kept my tickets but sold them for the games so I wouldn't lose my seat. Most seasons, I ended up in the negative because people did not want to "pay" to watch the Seahawks. Yes, they would ridicule me for asking them for the seat price for my tickets. I knew that someday they would do well, and now that time has come! Even though I did not get superbowl tickets this year, I was very excited to see my email on Wed. saying they were having a "season ticket holders" rally at the Clink after a parade for the rest of the folks. I was not going to the parade, its too crowded and at my age, I can't handle the rowdy 20 something folks. Surely the team would come into the stadium and put on a great show for the most loyal fans, their season ticket holders, right...surely we would get field access so we can get pics and autographs....surely we would have food and drinks available to us while we waited for our team to enter the stadium. Well, I was sorely mistaken, and what should of been the day to end all days for this loyal long time ticket holder, ended up being an "afterthought" press opportunity for the players and the owners who were obviously rung out and exhausted already. It was "open seating" but ended up people holding seats for other folks and security blocking off seats that were empty for reasons unknown to me. What a crock of shit! the stadium was not even completely open. Only 2 food stands open on the uppper levels, and had not enough food or drinks for everyone who showed up. Secondly, the field was closed off to access by the public, so again, no access to players or staff at all We couldn't even get a seat closer than the upper deck, and the rally itself started 2 hrs. late. Then, the speeches, while inspirational, I could of stayed home and warm and watched on TV. But this is my team, this was a special event for the season ticket holders, and I wouldn't miss it for anything. Oh well, at least I got in the stadium, which is more than what others got, right...Then, I get home and watch the news reports on TV. What did I see... I see a swarm of bandwagon fans getting jerseys, tee shirts, autographs, pictures up close and personal with players! WTF, really...these folks who probably don't even know or care who these people are getting front row center access to the very team I've spent over $20,000+ supporting for over 15 years, and never even so much have been on the turf at the stadium yet...really...seriously getting angry as I'm typing this! I can't believe I spent 4 hrs driving, 1 hr walking from my parking spot, to walk into century link to get NOTHING at the gate, no program, no photo, no tee shirt, NOTHING but yet players giving away all of the above to folks on the street corners. UH...so Seahawks after all these years and years of loyalty on my part, you basically just shrug your shoulders at me and all the other season ticket holders because that's exactly how it felt. You praise and trip over yourselves to the fans who were NOT there for us all these years, yet the 62,000 season ticket holders were given less than 3 hrs notice to print your tickets to the rally or miss it altogether than an hour talk with some confetti and an invitation to stay and watch a press conference. NO THANKS. Wow, I wonder how many people didn't even get their tickets in time. That was a really sorry way to thank us who put our money where our mouth is every year! And alot of us aren't rich, I give up alot to buy my tickets, sometimes even have to borrow money to do it. You'd think we'd get something a little more than the rest of them, wouldn't ya. Nope, only a cold hot dog that took 30 min to get and a "see ya next year" wave from an exhausted team. WOW is all I can say...just WOW....
